1971 : Renewal Plan of Buenos Aires South Zone

This plan was made in 1971 by Arq. Juan Kurchan, with a proposal to recover the South Zone of the city. It was based on the redefinition of two sectors, with different uses:

A. South of Avenida Belgrano, it proposed to code the area for home, equipment, commerce, health, leisure and sports, eliminating industrial uses.

B. Madero Area, it included the extension of the third sector settled down in the centra area (100.000 jobs), complemented by commerce, hotels, and public and private showcases. No residential uses were proposed.

It also proposed a Metropolitan Park, devoted to recreational and cultural activities, gathered in an only articulated complex. For the zone north of the refilled land, port, commercial and sport activities were proposed.
